ABOUT JACQUELYN

About: Headliner

Jacquelyn Purvis is an ambitious, driven and highly successful individual with a passion for all things creative.  She is currently the Product Developer on the Engineering team at Camelbak focusing on color, material, and finish for both new product launches and the custom product channel.  Working closely with design and engineering she also serves on the Innovation Team where her role allows for exploration, technical research, and experimentation of new and exciting ways to apply color, finishes, and trends to products.

Jacquelyn received her education in Studio Art and Kinesiology from Westmont College located in beautiful Santa Barbara, California.  During that time she also spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy where she was able to deepen her love of both travel and art from the heart of Renaissance Art History.  She was also able to build upon her skills of drawing, painting, and ceramics and learned both Italian and the foundations American and Italian art restoration.

Upon returning to the states, Jacquelyn drew upon these many skills in a variety of jobs and internships including teaching art at a local art school, assisting at a highly reputable art conservation lab, as well as assisting in building a board sport triathlon brand.  Around this same time she also became very interested in graphic design which she immediately fell in love with and led her to her degree focusing in Digital Art & Graphic Design.

After college Jacquelyn was drawn back to the Carlsbad, California beaches where she frequently visited as a child.  She was fortunate to land a job as a graphic designer at a start up company in the Action Sport industry that focused on around the use of the environmentally sustainable material, bamboo.  Due to the nature of the start-ups, Jacquelyn was able to take on many roles in addition to Graphic Design and it is how Jacquelyn became passionate about bringing innovative and sustainable consumer products to life.  Her role quickly expanded to encompass overseeing graphic design, marketing, and product development for multiple products under the brand umbrella including eye glasses, fences, dishes, clothing, furniture, and skateboards.

Jacquelyn has been at Camelbak now for several years and when she is not off traveling she spends her free time enjoying all that the Bay Area and Sonoma County have to offer!  This can include hiking, mountain and road biking, spending time with friends and family, day trips to the beach or San Francisco, weekend trips to go skiing in Tahoe, and supporting the local food, wine and craft beer economy!
